Wet your hair with lukewarm water to open your hair cuticles (unless it is a Dry Shampoo). Place a quarter sized amount of shampoo in the palm of your hands. Work up a good lather in your hands. Apply the shampoo to the back of your scalp and work your way forward vigorously in a massage motion for thirty seconds not forgetting the side burn area. (In grooming, many people neglect the back of their hair.) Rinse your hair with lukewarm water for thirty seconds. 

Keep in mind that soft water shower heads as well as shower filters are best to use on your hair. 

Should you repeat? If your hair is oily, you can repeat the process above. Keep in mind that a shampoo will lather up better the second time around, however, shampoos do not need to generate lather in order to be effective. 

Always follow up a shampoo with a conditioner or a deep conditioner. Remember, shampoo is for your scalp and conditioner is for your hair. Start at the end of your hair when you condition and work your way down the hair shaft to the roots. Instead of massaging it in, applying your conditioner in one direction (for example, downward motion by tipping your head) will prevent tangles. Rinsing with cold water after your conditioner will close your cuticles and make your hair shiny. You can also follow up the conditioner with a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair shafts closed.

• Brush and comb gently the hair by running fingers through.
• Use gentle shampoo and hair conditioner in warm water and wash it gentle and carefully.
• Rinse with warm or cool water and apply cream rinse, hair conditioner or wet-looking spray as desired.
• Pat dry and comb with a wide tooth comb but never use the small tooth comb.
• Set and dry naturally or use low-heat dryer to make the hair as desired you want.
• Do not sleep on the wet hair
• Do not comb when wet but after hair is completely dry.

Bundling Process

Remy hair is carefully bundled so that all of the hair roots are together at the top and the direction of the cuticles are all the same as well. This prevents it from getting tangled easily, which is very much appreciated by those that are wearing them.
When non-Remy hair extensions are made, the hair is gathered from the floor where they were cut and bunched together. The roots and cuticles may be in all different directions and the hair simply looks messy. It is unattractive and more difficult to work with once they are in place on the head.

Styling Tools

Remy hair extensions are also made from real hair. This allows the person that is wearing them to use their curling irons, flat irons, or other styling utensils to create the amazing look that they are working towards. When synthetic hair extensions are in place, applying too much heat will make them melt together or change in texture so that they look awful. When this happens, everyone will know that you have hair extensions and that you went the cheap route to get them.
